Detailed Description:
Dear A2 Hosting Customers,
The following notification is ONLY for customers who use our Shared,
Reseller, or Semi-Dedicated hosting services. We have scheduled
some necessary upgrades to Apache, PHP, and cPanel. All servers will
be running the software versions below once these upgrades are completed.
o cPanel/WHM latest RELEASE version - See: http://blog.cpanel.net/?p=51
o Apache 2.2 - Apache child processes will now run as the owner
and no longer as 'nobody'. This will alleviate permissions problems. We will automatically chown any files back over to the user from 'nobody' but you should make sure you don't anticipate any problems with this new system. Our testing has indicated no major problems making this change.
o PHP 5.2.6 - Please see php.net 5.2.6 Changelog to see if any of your code needs to be updated.
We have done thorough testing of these upgrades in our development environment and we are confident that these upgrades should have minimal issues.
If you experience a problem after the server has been upgraded, please
file a ticket with the support system so we can track and respond to
your request.
We highly suggest you check out our customer forum thread for any
updates pertaining to this maintenance.
