I am running php-nuke on a budget shared webserver hosted here.  I am interested in running a ventrilo server query module on my site. The php script launches a cmd shell, which in turn launches a server_status.exe application that queries my remote ventrilo server populating the module with live vent server status.  I am fairly certain that a2hosting would permit such a module, being as though they have safe_mode 0 on the php config, but I want to be entirely certain before I undertake this endeavor.  Also, If anyone has any successful experiences with the Linux Ventrilo PHP script and would like to make any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it as well.

This should work we would just have to make a firewall exception most likely to allow you access to query the remote service.  Once you get to that point just submit a ticket with the remote server and port information.  Thanks.
